Poverty
Growing numbers of working parents find it harder to earn enough money to pay for food, clothing and accommodation. Nearly 7,500 people sleep rough on the streets of London every year. They come from every walk of life, and many of them want to find work and get their life together. In The Chaos Theory, a female character, makes the nearly fatal decision of going to a loan shark for money. She is desperate and under enormous pressure and like many people, feel there is no other way. In London, money that could transform the lives of the poorest, has gone instead to tax cuts for the wealthy and it is glaringly evident that the divide between rich and poor is getting increasingly bigger.
